Jacqueline K good title matches film. useless "acting" useless story. only thing not useless was the horse. lead actress has as much intonation & acting ability as roadkill, definitely give up your day job. absolutely appalling, worst ever. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/22/24 Full Review Audience Member Was an average all move was good till ending left you hanging in to many aspects Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Extremely clean movie. There was some drug use near the end, but it was NOT glorified or made attractive. Very family friendly movie. I watched it on YouTube and the excessive commercials in the first half may have detracted from the experience. I thought it was slow and longer than it needed to be. There was nothing wrong with the "useless" horse beyond not being suited to being a cutting horse. The adjective "useless" is a huge exaggeration, much like many of today's YouTube video titles. As a movie title it is, dare I say it, "clickbait-y" in much the same way as those YouTube video titles. "Everyone deemed him useless," is also an exaggeration. If "everyone" was crew on the ranch he came from, perhaps. The music was supposed to set the tone and tell you what emotions you are expected to feel, but it fell flat for me due to a lack of subtlety. Perhaps playing it more quietly in the background, instead of playing it almost as lound as the actors saying their lines, would have helped. As a general equestrian, there was nothing terrible about the horse scenes. As in most horse movies, the focus is actually more on the people. With a little minor rewriting, it could be a dog story. Change barrel racing to some kind of dog show event, like agility, and of course dog shows instead of horseback riding. Ta-da, cookie cutter movie about someone facing adversity. My reason for saying this is not to be mean, but to emphasize how the story is about the people more than the horses. If you are ok with that, great, but if you start watching expecting the movie to somehow be more about the title horse than the human struggle, you may find yourself disappointed.
