Audience Member This movie was so messed up in SO many ways! At first, it looked obviously cheap but possibly cute. Yet as time wore on, the characters became unlikable and just plain stupid. The old woman: of course if you keep doing all that work by yourself every year, you will get the same results- trembling hands, and becoming a grouch to everyone around. Then, of course, as soon as she allows the grandson to help and hang out, her life and health naturally improves. The pig betting loser: even though he only had one year, he still should have done more for his wife. She left him when he lost everything to gambling, but because he's winning, he's never home! No kidding, guy!! Maybe your wife loved you and wanted to spend time with you... It would have been better if it was more like Groundhog Day and the old woman actually helped the other townspeople for all the years she lived repeatedly other than use the years for herself!!
