Audience Member If someone wants to die do they stay that way? Sarah Michelle Gellar plays a 20 year old woman Veronika She’s reached a tipping point and decides to take her own life After a failed suicide attempt she’s admitted to the Latt A privately funded psychiatric facility where she can get better But it’ll take time as Veronika is fighting to stay sane and leave on her own terms This really is very dramatic and extremely dialogue heavy and a bit longer than it should be But Gellar sells it being a woman learning to let go of her insecurities to truly be happy not taking her life for granted Truthfully nobody knows when their end will come, we have to embrace every day as a gift, even if we are not on meds to helping us feel better we can still do fine without we just need to ask for the help itself Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/24/25 Full Review Audience Member Basically an artsy Lifetime channel movie. No wonder this sat on the shelf for so long. (Never heard of the novel) Gellar does her best with a hamfisted borderline nonexistent plot. There are some wonderful actors in this film, but you wouldn’t k ow it because they’re reduced to staring out of windows and mumbling randomness. Waste of time, not even a rental. SKIP. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Just bad in so many ways. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member One of the best books ive read and it sadly doesn't make a good film. It was an uneven mix, trying to be arty but given a Hollywood cast. Sarah Michelle Gellar isn't convincing enough and the love story angle is a bit wet. The end of the book hit like a punch here its done as a narration. Weak Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/31/23 Full Review Audience Member telegraphed and heavy handed. Veronika decides to give away all plot points. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Feels like another lifetime film. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Read all reviews
