11/30/2023 The real star is the cinematography. Exquisite and evocative. Sevilla is a marvel to behold, and the camera and light/shadows are used to magnificent effect in one-shots and crowd scenes, especially in the cantina, The Changoo. But Fernandez takes 40 minutes to get to the point, muddies around for 30 minutes, and then wraps the whole story in 3 minutes flat. For sheer artistry it falls far short of masters like Bracho and Bunuel. I’d watch Caudillo or Young and The Damned for true storytelling in this era. See more Read all reviews
