Audience Member At first I was disturbed by this film. Sure it's fake but the idea of this type of gory violence exists just got to me. However I saw an interview with Gary Cohen and he said he meant it to be ridiculous violent and funny. So he fooled me. These films are original, they just didn't have the state of the art equipment some films have. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member It just boils down to two evil men hosting scenes of gruesome death, while the two men torture a woman to death between each segments. It's repetitive and tedious, rarely keeping your attention. I remember my brother renting these back years ago and I got hooked on them. I had a hard time finding them until now. I found the DVD for sale on Ebay and bought it!! It's a great movie if you like cheap FX and gore, but it's still cool in my book. Gotta see them!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member While the original Video Violence managed to create a sense of dread and unease with it's original story of crazed townsfolk and their lust for violence, this sequel takes a step in the wrong direction down a more unrealistic path as the iconic Eli and Howard from the original now have a variety show that infiltrates regular TV somehow where they show off their greatest kills, not to mention related commercials, all while in a more comedic/slapstick approach. I loved the black humor from the original, but they over do it and make it corny in this film. Some of the stories include a mugger getting electrocuted (funniest death, btw), college girls having fun with the pizza guy, and another one I've already managed to forget. Several people from the first one make appearances in this, especially the lead couple from the first film in a surprise cameo role. The chick who showed off the titties looked real good (compared to the hitchhiker from the original), but the music seemed to have downgraded as well. Amusing in some parts, maybe would have been good as a stand alone film, but overall, poor follow-up to the original. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews
