Paul Lê Bloody Disgusting Had it not been for its setting and regional lore, Viking Wolf would be forgotten. The blood and action are each meager in a movie of this breed, and the pacing is often sluggish. Rated: 2/5 Jul 20, 2023 Full Review Jorge Loser Espinof Viking Wolf reveals itself to be quite a bloody movie, with a more serious and sinister approach than common adolescent fare... [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 3/5 Feb 9, 2023 Full Review James Field Pajiba It sounds more interesting than it actually is, unfortunately. It hits most of the typical werewolf movie high notes, from the first kill to the big reveal, but it feels very rote. Feb 8, 2023 Full Review Brian Costello Common Sense Media Overall, though, while it's a Norwegian twist on the werewolf tale, it doesn't really add anything new to the story. Rated: 2/5 Feb 7, 2023 Full Review Lori C. Ready Steady Cut Viking Wolf fails at its attempts to tell a deeply emotional story. It does fully succeed at being an entertaining werewolf flick with good CGI and the right amount of body horror peppered in. Rated: 3.5/5 Feb 6, 2023 Full Review Kate Sánchez But Why Tho? A Geek Community While [Viking Wolf] may not be the best when it comes to pacing out its violence, the way it handles emotional and internal conflict is what makes it one to watch.w Rated: 7.5/10 Feb 5, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Danny S Ok, so I’m a massive fan of An American Werewolf in London… as was Michael Jackson, who famously drew inspiration from it for Thriller. The follow-up, American Werewolf in Paris, was a disaster of a sequel… but this film, Viking Wolf, is brilliant. First off, I love the pace. It’s lean and stripped back. None of the bloated filler you get with so many big-budget US productions. It has a refreshing old-school horror vibe that feels authentic rather than manufactured. The story is a clever blend of classic werewolf horror and teenage coming-of-age drama, capturing both the vulnerability and recklessness of youth while layering in real tension. The special effects were a standout too: clear nods to AWIL in both transformation and atmosphere, but modernised without losing grit. The setting deserves a mention as well mountains 🏔️ the scenery is fantastic. Stark, moody landscapes that frame the horror perfectly and give the film an atmospheric weight you rarely see in the genre. What impressed me most, though, was how unflinchingly brutal the storyline was toward the townspeople. There’s no sugar-coating, no easy way out… just a merciless descent into horror. For me, this is easily the best werewolf film I’ve seen in years. 🐺 Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/01/25 Full Review Audience Member Have so many questions about this movie! Why there's only one police who rescued and help the community? Why there's no back up? 😂 Their pacing is so slow. Don't like it! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/25/25 Full Review Rob B Well paced and some original ideas until the final act. Held off on showing the monster too much until the end which was just as well because it didn't look great. I feel like they could have done much better with the ending which was needlessly soppy and leaves a load of loose ends. Worth a watch if you like creature features but not going to blow your mind. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 07/21/25 Full Review Sam A Really enjoyed this. It's much better than your usual budget werewolf thriller. I loved that's it ls Norwegian. The storyline is a little basic, but that's what you get with a creature feature. I also was frustrated by the ending. However a decent watch. (Translated to English) With an impressive lead performance by Eli Rhiannon Muller, some suspenseful sequences and an apposite tone, Viking Wolf is a perfectly watchable Norwegian horror thriller than unfortunately gets bogged down by uninteresting storytelling and poorly developed characters which also negatively affects the pacing and overall emotional weight. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/25 Full Review Demonic S While it's not amazing, I've seen worse. Pretty slow at times, but picks up towards the end and ends up being fairly decent.
