Mattie Lucas From the Front Row It's trash, and most of the film exists solely as an excuse to get naked girls on screen and push the boundaries of relaxed British censorship standards, but it's actually pretty visually inventive. Rated: 2/4 Aug 6, 2019 Full Review Bryant Frazer Bryant Frazer's Deep Focus Half of the film plays as a surprisingly straightforward nudie picture, the other half as a somewhat ambitious psychological horror movie. Peter H I'd forgotten how much I love 1970s "horror". No, they don't stand the test of time but they were, in my youth, graphic and interesting. This one has a story! Not a great one, but it makes sense and entertains. And pretty, nude women too ('Allo 'Allo). Rated 4 out of 5 stars 10/14/24 Full Review Audience Member Moody, atmospheric, about a cult, and almost of cult value. It's slightly exploitational given there's nudity in every other scene, but it's major failing isn't the story, but the interest value. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/06/23 Full Review Audience Member I should have known better. But in my never-ending quest to find spooky supernatural films (without gore, if possible), I descended into the realm of sub-Hammer sexploitation. Apparently filmed just as Britain was opening itself up to T&A, that's about all that is on offer here. The acting is rather somnambulant and the plot (which sees two young girls runaway to London to become models but get mixed up in a witches coven) is far inferior to The Devil Rides Out (1968) or even The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975), two of its peers (the latter if you add sexuality to the mix, although that is more of a spoof of The Old Dark House, 1932). At any rate, all I can say is "look elsewhere". I'll tell you if I find something good in this genre (Suspiria, 1977, and Rosemary's Baby, 1968, are still at the top of the heap). Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member bordering on soft-core porn with no redeeming values except for humor over just how bad the plot is Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Video Nasties aren't all that great. Don't know why I expected this one to be. Rob Zombie, you tricked me again!!! Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Tedious and unoriginal.
