Bruce P Magnificent documentary of a great conductor and the fine work he has done for the children of Venezuela. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/20/22 Full Review William Amazing story about an Amazing conductor! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/16/22 Full Review dave d Hubby and wife date night provided a documentary feature about Conductor Gustavo Dudamel. If you're into this kind of thing, it's like a doc on Babe Ruth while in his prime. Lots of classical pieces. Hubby thought it was fine, however nothing special. Wife was enthralled and loved the sights and sounds. Both agreed the doc was a little unfocused and cumbersome at times. Wife: 8.6/Hubby: 6.2 Average: 7.4/10 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/15/23 Full Review Victoria K Very well narrated story about ideals, life purpose, community, the people who can make a difference in our lives and the struggles of a country. Thomas Floyd Washington Post With such a mesmerizing star, one can forgive Braun’s film for being a shade off-key. Rated: 2.5/4 Apr 14, 2022 Full Review Amil Niazi Globe and Mail It takes you on an emotional, uplifting journey across many countries and through civil unrest, with music ultimately winning out over dark forces that would otherwise challenge and limit free expression and art. Apr 13, 2022 Full Review Mark Swed Los Angeles Times In Dudamel’s case... what you see is what you hear, and that’s what makes him and the movie riveting. Apr 8, 2022 Full Review Beth Accomando KPBS.org The film highlights Dudamel’s passion for music and its power to transform. It is an inspiring and insightful look at what music means to Dudamel and how he tries to convey that to both an audience and his musicians. May 19, 2022 Full Review Dennis Schwartz Dennis Schwartz Movie Reviews A pleasing but conventional music documentary. Rated: B May 10, 2022 Full Review Glenn Dunks The Film Experience It’s an appealing film, but not one that goes beyond what most viewers will be expecting. May 4, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews
