With a 25 minute run-time, it isn't going to be the longest OVA you've seen, but you'd be hard pushed to find many that manage to pack as much emotion and sci-fi action into such a short period of time. This isn't Shinkai's best work as there are many things that it lacks leading it to feel somewhat unpolished, but it certainly demonstrated what he is capable of and put him squarely on the map as the man whom many have been calling the next Hayao Miyazaki.
