Audience Member A rather decent depression-era escapist movie with singing, comedy, and an exotic locale. The movie is a little rough at times -- as in unrefined in the arts of movie-making -- yet it has its charms and originality. The comedy is inconsistent but the romance is gentle and soothing. Worth watching as a predecessor to later rom-coms, and worth watching for itself as a diversion from the real world. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member The best movie song ever sung: Sweet Leilani! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review dave j Like many of Elvuis's movies, the story is built around Bing Crosby's songs in which a young lady, Georgia Smith (Shirley Ross) winning a miss pineapple contest with a prize of 3 weeks in Hawaii. Because she was also promised romance with this vacation and is unable to get any, she's then want to leave her vacation early , and that is when executives send Bing Crosby over as Tony Marvin to woo her and convince her to stay. Both Martha Raye as Myrtle Finch and Bob Burns as Shad Buggle also stars as comedy relief. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member Enjoyable Paramount musical is a pretty postcard for Hawaii and features the Oscar-winning song "Sweet Leilani." Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Another average Crosby movie taking place in Hawaii this time around. Predictable ending, silly jokes, annoying songs, but sometimes funny. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Good fun. Bing always relaxes me. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Ann Ross Maclean's Magazine Waikiki Wedding turns out to be a tuneful and amusing debunking of the Hawaiian legend, Bing supplying most of the tunes and Martha Raye, as the heroine's companion, most of the comedy. Jul 22, 2019 Full Review Emanuel Levy EmanuelLevy.Com A pleasant but routine star vehicle for Bing Crosby, with an Oscar winning song that created a scandal at the time.
