Matt Zoller Seitz RogerEbert.com An impressive debut from co-writer/director Linh Tran. Rated: 3/4 Oct 25, 2023 Full Review Natalia Winkelman New York Times Since the dialogue can feel stilted, the film’s best scenes are nearly wordless: silent surveys of the wreckage of things unsaid. Oct 19, 2023 Full Review Kathleen Sachs Chicago Reader This award-winning drama has a patient, character-focused script. May 17, 2023 Full Review Marya E. Gates Cool People Have Feelings, Too. (Substack) Taps into the brutal feelings that infiltrate our psyches when deeply rooted friendships begin to show signs of rot and the way the liminal space between adolescence and adulthood can feel both suffocating and never-ending. Feb 13, 2024 Full Review Patrick McDonald HollywoodChicago.com Life transitions are filtered through the Asian American experience, with its own surface challenges and outside-looking-in circumstances. The is an human film about becoming a adult, as fluid & pliable now as any point in social history. With interview. Rated: 4.5/5 Oct 19, 2023 Full Review Kathy Michelle Chacón Paste Magazine Its success lies in its use of tone and setting to create a mood piece that bottles feelings of angst and uncertainty. To capture the spirit of a generation in existential peril in your feature debut is a victory in itself. Rated: 7.1/10 Oct 18, 2023 Full Review Read all reviews

Thomas D A depressing mess. Character development, minimal. You want to learn something about the characters to care about, but are left as empty as the dialogue. A filmmaker is in trouble when you just don't care about the characters and their constant whining. Smoking weed in the dark is about as uplifting as this gets. Only thing worth seeing is Port Crescent State Park in late winter. Just depressing. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 09/26/23 Full Review Danielle M An amazing first feature from director Linh Tran. This film captures the anxiety and self-doubt that comes with being in your twenties. The cinematography and character development is top notch. Can't wait to see what this filmmaker creates next! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/08/23 Full Review Tina F An amazing film by Linh Tran, if you don't watch it you're missing out. The angst, longing, and aimlessness of the characters was so gentle but poignant. This is a movie to watch when you want to remember your 20's or any period of limbo you've been through. Tran is a revelation and I can't wait to see her other work. Also don't forget the composer who named the film, Ben Barantschik! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/08/23 Full Review Read all reviews
