Paul M Complete rubbish. Avoid Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 12/27/23 Full Review Audience Member I had the honor of meeting Nathaniel Marston twice so when I heard that he was in this movie, I was curious about it. Normally it isn't the type of movie I would watch, and I expected it to be horrible. However, it wasn't too bad. It had some funny moments but also some eye-rolling ones. The overall message was okay, but I feel like it could have been a little better stated. Think of this as a body-switching movie, but instead the characters switch orientation. It's a pretty unique storyline, but it could have been better written. The movie started out kind of slow but once the switch happens, it gets pretty funny. I enjoyed it more than I had expected and the soundtrack is pretty good. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member LGBT+ representation: A bit stereotypical. Hetero men being "manly" while the gays are "soft, feminine and stylish". Personal opinion: It's definitely an unexpected Christmas movie. Classical "everyone's bad and mean but through the power of whatever they change and have an happy ending" but with a gay theme. Shout out to the writers for admitting that sexual and romantic attractions are not the same thing. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member If you are looking for a movie built purely on stereotypes and cliches, this is the movie for you. However, if you are part of any of the communities portrayed, you are likely to be offended by how uninformed and careless the writing and direction are in this movie. All the characters are caricatures and none of them are particularly likeable. The most surprising and comic part of the movie is that the filmmakers seem to genuinely believe that changing your sexuality also changes your personality and your basic skill set. Apparently: - being gay means you can cook a five course meal even if you've never cooked before, improves your fashion sense, makes you flamboyant and unable to defend yourself; - being straight means you are a misogynistic, emotionally stunned neanderthal, who can't be compassionate or caring to your loved ones and struggles with self care; - being a straight woman means you live to attract and take care of men, with overweight women being particularly vapid and self-deprecating in this pursuit; and - people of color are tokens or hoodlums, when and if they appear. I watched the entire movie, hoping that it would get better or have some redeeming quality. I did not find it... Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review Audience Member A movie made in 2011 with such antiquated stereotypes? Hard to believe these actors would agree to participate (and the actors ar preetty good). "Homosexual tendencies"? Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member The film's heart is in the right place but cliches abound. Has a more talented cast than is usual in this sort of low budget enterprise but the characters are paper thin. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews
