Critics Consensus

Incoherent, unfunny, and borderline misogynist, Walk of Shame lives up to its title for filmgoers entering and leaving the theater.

This isn't as hateful as, say, The Other Woman. The concept's a little higher and the humiliation more cosmic. Go to Full Review

The dire new comedy Walk Of Shame offers itself as a gender-reversed After Hours[...] It's a clever conceit,[...] If only it weren't so desperately unfunny. Go to Full Review

An unintended nightmare scenario for women in Hollywood, and the persistent humiliation required just to get noticed. Go to Full Review

Brill phenomenally wastes the proven comedic chops of Banks, Gillian Jacobs (“Community,” 2009-present), and Sarah Wright (“Celeste and Jesse Forever,” 2012) toward jokes without timing, a punchline, or even chuckle-worthy insight. Go to Full Review

See more Carol G 12/29/2024 It seems the critics hate this film. It's a sure sign it's a funny movie. I've been searching for a decent rom/com that isn't formulaic Hallmark/Lifetime or where the main character isn't extremely unlikeable and the main characters hate each other but find love anyway. Elizabeth Banks made her character fun, relatable and most of all likable, which so few rom/com actresses can pull off. Overall, it's an enjoyable rom/com. The situations were genuinely funny, especially as Meghan ventures home from the hood in her yellow dress. The situations are absurd, and yet the cast seems to make it work nonetheless. I had a good amount of laugh out loud moments watching this film. Gave it 4 stars. See more Ricky C 02/08/2024 Doesn't deserve such a low score. It's great for a comedy movie, the plot isn't meant to be taken too seriously. See more Toggo U 02/03/2024 Wanna find a great movie? Go for the one the critics hate. Like this one. This was such a hilarious movie, played brilliantly by the always charming and entertaining Elizabeth Banks. Recommended. See more Amanda R 01/31/2024 I really enjoyed this, it was fun and a bit different. Meghan goes on a night out with her friends, has too much fun and then follows the inevitable walk of shame. Only she has to be at work, and everything goes a bit pear shaped! It's harmless fun and worth watching with pals.
