Sarah Manvel Critic's Notebook Better acting would have distracted from the weaknesses of the script; and a better script would have enabled stronger acting. It’s really irritating, as there’s hints of a smarter, sexier movie in here. Tk F One of the Best well rounded Movies of this time. Made with love and dedication. This Movie is incredible. Realistic storyline. Wonderful character arches. Enjoyable music. Well produced. Honestly, Ive watched this movie multiple times and I never have any regrets just appreciative for its existence. Would highly recommend, you give it a chance. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/12/23 Full Review John O Spoilers: Thought it was heading for just another B, at best, movie, the gals would prompt divorced meany hubby to charge bad parenting, take the kid in an unbalanced court system, yada yada. It was a bit more than that. These were writers, producers on a quest for something big, who may have stumbled along the way. Something like changing societal mores amongst the generations, and my proclivities for a sexual partner surprised me as it transgressed the line of previous heterosexuality. It ended up with a nice neat reproachment with Amber and Mummy, as well as the same with Amber and Logan, whose bluesy, folksy singing voice and guitar playing were nice. Hey, who doesn't like a movie with a happy ending? But when Logan runs away from Amber, and Amber runs back to Logan, not vice versa, what could go wrong? What's to say Logan isn't going to run again? Feelings, wo, wo, wo, wo, wo, feelings. Calling Dear Abby. Or Dr. Freud (Tell me about your muzzah.) Rated 3 out of 5 stars 08/10/23 Full Review Niki S Excellent. Well written script and wonderful acting. Kudos to Bridget and Devin as they hit all the right notes in navigating this relationship. Great chemistry and handling of this different relation6. Two very talented actresses hit all the right notes as well as the supporting characters. Sol played by Catrina Ganey is a cherished and memorable character. Great movie, great great music and I loved every minute of this movie! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/16/23 Full Review anne b I love this film. The acting and writing both come across as so totally natural, which makes the characters relatable in a way I don't normally see in films. I can understand people who prefer a certain theatrical pretense in their films coming away unimpressed, but I think people seeking a down-to-earth, believable narrative will find a lot to like here. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Judith F It's 2022. A better movie was made about coming out in 1985–Desert Hearts. The difference? The acting. Helen Shaver and Patricia Charboneau made me believe in the experience they were sharing with us on screen. Walk With Me lacked that level of acting and commitment (takes acting chops and commitment for two straight actresses to pull off a lesbian love story). It's a shame because I was really hoping this movie would succeed. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 12/10/22 Full Review ghost_girl_cm This is one of the best lesbian movies I've ever seen. Both leads were very talented. But now -- for a bit of a TMI moment. This movie made me feel so much that, after it was over, I couldn't process my feelings. That was no fault of the cast or crew -- I was just in a bad place. I saw two women who were so in love, and they just couldn't make it work. The ending was perfect, really. But in my personal mind space, I just couldn't process the heartache, followed by the very short reunion. If I'm even more honest, this film was what caused my third hospitalization. I finally finished the movie -- and, unable to process, I cut myself too deeply. (I am a cutter of more than a decade.) I couldn't get the gash to stop bleeding, and I ended up in the ER. I was admitted for a few days. I sang "Hold On" while I lay alone in my room. This doesn't make perfect sense. This movie just . . . made me feel emotions I wasn't ready for. Here I am now, more than a month later, writing a new story, and listening to "Hold On." P.S. -- I really am a writer. Anyone who knows me calls me CM Blackwood.
