Audience Member With it's emphasis on extremely long shots and no direct narrative, Skolimowski's second feature plays like an amalgam of the European New Wave, echoing both Antonioni and Godard at once. But the personal approach in Walkover is strictly Skolimowski, and a conscious effort to place focus on the individual rather than society as a whole. By doing this, and by telling the story from the subjective point of view of an outcast, Skolimowski also manages to inject some subtle social critique into his movie, making his hero an opponent to the conformist post-war Polish society.
