The plucky characters from a series of animated shorts, Wallace (Peter Sallis) and his dog, Gromit, make their feature debut here. After starting a pest control business, the duo soon lands a job from the alluring Lady Tottington (Helena Bonham Carter) to stop a giant rabbit from destroying the town's crops. Both Wallace and the stuffy Victor (Ralph Fiennes) vie for the lady's affections. If Wallace wants to please his pretty client, and best Victor, he needs to capture that pesky bunny.

I’m consistently amazed by what this team can do with stop-motion. I can't wrap my brain around how they pull it off. It almost looks like it’s drawn or computer-generated, but nope, it’s all physical figures, sets, and painstaking frames. Seriously mind-blowing. This first feature-length installment was super wholesome yet snuck in a few jokes for the adults. As for the story, though... eh, it was just okay. Felt a bit like they were regurgitating plot from other Halloween tales, honestly. It’s still super cute and keeps the franchise’s charm alive. Another solid entry for sure.
