Looking to escape from his dying world, the orc shaman Gul'dan utilizes dark magic to open a portal to the human realm of Azeroth. Supported by the fierce fighter Blackhand, Gul'dan organizes the orc clans into a conquering army called the Horde. Uniting to protect Azeroth from these hulking invaders are King Llane, the mighty warrior Anduin Lothar (Travis Fimmel) and the powerful wizard Medivh. As the two races collide, leaders from each side start to question if war is the only answer.

The motion-capture performances, especially by Toby Kebbell as Durotan, bring unexpected depth and emotion to the Orc characters, making them more than just traditional villains. While the storyline can feel dense at times due to the sheer amount of lore packed into the runtime, it’s clear that the filmmakers made a genuine effort to stay faithful to the source material. The battles are thrilling and well-choreographed, offering plenty of action without overshadowing the emotional moments. For fans of the Warcraft universe, this movie is a treat, offering nods and Easter eggs that reward those familiar with the games. For newcomers, it provides an engaging, albeit slightly overwhelming, introduction to a rich fantasy world.
