What to Know

Critics Consensus

Warcraft has visual thrills to spare, but they -- and director Duncan Jones' distinctive gifts -- are wasted on a sluggish and derivative adaptation of a bestselling game with little evident cinematic value.

nammaw I think it needed more action and no so boring but on the other hand there were people sitting behind us talking through the move the whole time. I couldn't hear the movie too well. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/20/23 Full Review Steve H For those that loved the game, the movie is incredible. If you didnt, then the storyline may seem a bit shallow. The cinematics are powerful, the Orcs are fearsome and the battle rages on long after the game is a memory Rated 4 out of 5 stars 07/26/24 Full Review STEFAN V We need part 2 ! I love to see my childhood fav game on the screens ! It’s not perfect but it was good enough ! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/25/24 Full Review Maksym Y The Warcraft movie left me with an extremely positive impression. From the very beginning, I was captivated by the story, which is masterfully adapted from the lore of the famous game. The filmmakers were able to bring the complex and rich world of Warcraft to the screen while maintaining its unique atmosphere and details. The cast of actors is chosen perfectly: each character on the screen lives his own life, conveying to the audience emotions and characters that exactly correspond to the game prototypes. The acting is amazing, immersing us in the epic narrative and making it even more exciting. The plot of the film pleases with its originality and unpredictability. The absence of banal and cheap clichés makes it dynamic and exciting. At every moment something important happens on the screen that keeps the viewer in suspense until the very end. The visual component of the film deserves special attention. Expensive pictures and stunning graphics demonstrate the highest level of work of specialists. Each frame looks like a work of art, giving the impression that you are inside the game. "Warcraft" is not just an adaptation of the game, it is an independent work that is worthy of admiration. The film was an excellent gift for all fans of Warcraft lore and simply lovers of high-quality fantasy. I recommend watching! And I demand a continuation! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/24/24 Full Review Nick G Actually thought this was a really good movie. Action incredible - visuals amazing - plot and storyline good enough to hold it all together. Yes I did play the game. May be harder for others who haven’t to immerse in the story. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 07/24/24 Full Review Matthew E Of course critics didn't like this movie. I guess in 2016 people actually cared about what they thought. This movie is badass from beginning to end. What a shame they didn't continue the story. So epic on every level.
