Marc Savlov Austin Chronicle Given China's ongoing interest in the island and its unknowable future, this historical backstory behind current events is welcome indeed. Rated: 3/5 Apr 27, 2012 Full Review Adam Nayman Globe and Mail At times, Warriors sacrifices dramatic nuance for scale, but even its most rousing passages are tempered by a sense of loss. Rated: 3/4 Apr 27, 2012 Full Review G. Allen Johnson San Francisco Chronicle You can see why Woo, the noted Hong Kong action director, would want to produce it: It fits right in with his "heroic bloodshed" cinematic legacy. Rated: 3/4 Apr 26, 2012 Full Review Panos Kotzathanasis Asian Movie Pulse "Seediq Bale" is a true epic, a rather impressive movie that retains the interest for the whole of the 4,5 hours of its two parts, and an excellent portrait of a relatively unknown part of Asian history. Apr 11, 2021 Full Review David Bax Battleship Pretension For all its bombast, Warriors of the Rainbow: Seediq Bale doesn't come close to containing 2 1/2 hours worth of insight, much less 4 1/2. Mar 4, 2021 Full Review Mattie Lucas From the Front Row Despite some thrilling action sequences and moments of searing emotion, the script just doesn't do the story any justice. Jeff F Watched this movie long time ago. Can't speak for the movie itself too much, but what I do clearly remember is how BOTH sides of this conflict were pretty terrible people. No one to root for or feel sympathy to. Just a bunch of awful people slaughtering each other.
