Audience Member It's clear that this movie was made with good intentions, but the whole thing came across as a bit too "after school special" for me. It was very preachy and almost became tiring by the end of it, but the premise of the story was good. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member MTV's movie "Wasted" was a big waste of time. Geared toward the high schoolers who watch the channel, this movie was more like an anti-drug campaign than an actual movie dealing with teens and drugs. In this film, three friends find themselves on a self destructive ride. The girl, who is a drug addict, is trying to get clean. Her boyfriend, a drug addict, doesn't care about anything other than his own high. And then the jock, the clean one, who finds himself not understanding why his friends can't quit, so he tries it once, then twice, to addict. Of course, the movie would not be complete without one of the main characters dying in order to turn everyone else around. It isn't who you think, and well, it doesn't turn everyone else around. The movie leaves you with the generic message of "You can't change the world, only yourself." Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Great cast. One of the best 'stay away from drugs' movies; not in a preachy way. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member I used to watch this movie over & over again. Something about it I just loved. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member The first time I saw this, I loved it. The second time, not so much. It's not a bad film, by any means. It is, however, too preachy and ridiculously simplistic. All the lines like "It just makes all my problems go away" are too much for me. Still, it might be the best MTV film out there. 6/10 or 3/5 stars Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Didn't really like it...whiny kids who couldn't get through their addictions--despite having every opportunity thrown at them.
