In an alternate 1985 America, costumed superheroes are part of everyday life. When one of his former comrades is murdered, masked vigilante Rorschach (Jackie Earle Haley) uncovers a plot to kill and discredit all past and present superheroes. As he reconnects with his retired associates, only one of which has true powers, Rorschach glimpses a far-reaching conspiracy involving their shared past and catastrophic consequences for the world's future.

The Ultimate Cut of Watchmen is better, sleek style and unique action sequences, not as great as some say it is. But a very political thriller of Superhero’s that subverts the ideals of vigilantism. Watchmen still holds a compelling dialog of whom is watching the superhero’s if the team corrodes from the Inside or turns on the people their protecting, as well as asking if people lose faith in superhero’s, do they still have faith in society to save it’s self.
