While it's been trashed, the live action version is very faithful to the source material, and the casting and acting really brings the characters to the screen. This is a superhero movie for those who either love or hate superhero movies. It's more Game of Thrones or 1984 than Marvel or DC and the late Cold War setting of the 1950s-1980s is lovinngly brought back to life. The era rock hits suits the mood perfectly (and has been ripped off by lesser movies since, such as Suicide Sqaud). If this movie doesn't make you reconsider your whole ethical system, you have no brain.

One-of-a-kind superhero movie! Probably the best one I have seen. Interesting story, excellent strong visuals, great sets, mix of the best film styles... The acting is excellent, the dialogues thoughtful. It's been a long time since any movie gave me so much food for thought. I always watch this movie in one breath and am delighted.
