Zaki Hasan IGN Movies The finest adaptation of one of the most important comic book stories ever told gets the ending it deserves. Rated: 9/10 Dec 19, 2024 Full Review Jonathan Garcia Dynamic Duel Podcast This abridged, animated adaptation benefits from increased action in the source material’s latter half, but fails to capture the impact of the book. Rated: 3.5/5 Dec 11, 2024 Full Review John Serba Decider Watchmen: Chapter II is worth a watch for fans and unfamiliars alike – the former will satisfy their curiosity for an adaptation, and the latter will hopefully be inspired to pick up Moore’s brilliant work. Dec 4, 2024 Full Review Brad Cook Flickering Myth Movie adaptations always get scrutinized by fans, even more so when it’s a popular, long-lasting story like Watchmen, and Brandon Vietti and J. Michael Strączynski have succeeded in crafting a faithful adaptation with Watchmen: Chapter II. Dec 3, 2024 Full Review Jeff Ewing Collider It's a good adaptation that stays true to the source material, but Chapter 2 still falls short of adaptational greatness. Rated: 7/10 Dec 3, 2024 Full Review Jeff Beck The Blu Spot It's certainly got its flaws, but if you're looking for an iteration of the popular graphic novel that follows it almost perfectly, then it's one that's definitely worth checking out. matthias s As a huge fan of the *Watchmen* comic, I was super excited for *Watchmen Part 2*, and honestly, it didn’t disappoint. Seeing this incredible story brought to life was so much fun. The animation nails that gritty, dark atmosphere perfectly—exactly how I pictured it when reading the comic. The voice acting? Spot on. Everyone feels like they were plucked right out of the pages. Sure, it doesn’t take any big creative swings or try to reimagine the source material, but that’s okay because the comic is already perfection. Why mess with it? While it’s not quite as strong as the first part (which set the bar ridiculously high), it’s still a fantastic continuation. As a fan, this is everything you’d hope for—a faithful adaptation that captures the heart of the story. Definitely worth the watch if you love *Watchmen* as much as I do. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/14/24 Full Review Nick T Master piece in animation and writing. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/09/24 Full Review J B I was thoroughly bored with part one, wasn't bad but wasn't that good, so I walked into this with the same expectation and was pleasantly surprised. My feeling though is if had the same mindset with the first installment then they're probably both on the same level. In other words, set the bar low and it's easily hopped over. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 12/08/24 Full Review Sander B I can't wrap my head around this why this was made in the first place. It's a bit closer to the comic book, but almost the same as the 2009 movie. It was more of the same, or less of the same. If you have never seen the 2009 movie, this two animations are fine. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 12/06/24 Full Review David D The tracking to the live version is quite something. That said, it is different, better and worse. Personally, I enjoyed it. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 12/01/24 Full Review CandyCrow C GIRL WHAT HAPPENED???? The first movie followed the script, sometimes word-for-word. Which is not a complaint by any means; the original novel boasts an enduring and compelling narrative that certainly deserves preservation. And, although the animation is sometimes a little awkward, it still looked decent. So HOWWWWWW did they fuck up this bad? The following is a summation of only a fraction of my grievances: Unnecessary new sequences, bizarre editing choices, awkward pacing, odd and unappealing artistic additions, crude and primitive 3d animation, strange deviations and rushed scenes that deprive the narrative of its emotional richness - this sucks!!!! If you're looking for yet another Watchmen adaptation to laugh at, seek elsewhere - this was a frustrating and bizarre watch. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 12/02/24 Full Review Read all reviews
