Frank Scheck Hollywood Reporter The film is more effective as an emotional appeal for better corporate behavior than a stringent analysis of the complicated scenario. May 10, 2016 Full Review Noel Murray Los Angeles Times There are good lessons to be learned from the Market Basket saga. "We the People" doesn't trust the audience to figure them out for themselves. Apr 28, 2016 Full Review Robyn Bahr Village Voice Combining court documents, footage of the protests, and interviews with reverent personnel, reporters, and politicians, Reid's fast-paced and engaging film appears to play out as a simple question-and-answer exercise. Apr 21, 2016 Full Review Mary F. Pols Portland Press-Herald This material is too good to completely bungle in a documentary, although We the People includes some ill-advised moments. Aug 1, 2018 Full Review Nathanael Hood The Young Folks We the People works best when it relegates itself to telling an unusual story about an unusual businessman. Rated: 7/10 May 29, 2016 Full Review Charles Steinberg Under the Radar At a time when widening income disparity and the shrinking of the middle class is such a weighted issue in America ... this is a story that actually gives one hope. Audience Member Not only is this a story of corporate stewardship, it's also an immigrant story. It is also an example of how ugly people can be, even to their own families, when money is involved. Two brothers open a successful chain of markets and after one dies the horrible actions of his sons, Evan Demoulas and Arthur S Demoulas, are reprehensible. Why they would get 55% of the company is not comprehensible. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member Great Documentary on very unique situation for an American company Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews
