Umberto Lenzi’s Nightmare Beach is a gonzo slice of late-’80s Italian horror, replete with gory killings and surreal narrative non sequiturs. Go to Full Review

Nightmare Beach turns out to be an interesting and unexpected hybrid of two dissimilar genres: the teen sex romp and the slasher flick. Surprisingly, it works rather well. Go to Full Review

Is Nightmare Beach really that bad? Yes, for the most part, but it still has its charms. Go to Full Review

Melissa L Aug 2 What can I say? I love cheesy '80s horror! John Saxon ("A Nightmare on Elm Street) is also a cop in this movie, but Freddy's nowhere to be found. This also had a great soundtrack, usually a hallmark of '80s movies. If you like '80s horror with a great soundtrack...you'll love this! (Free on the Kanopy platform this month-August 2025.) Featuring such horror/b-movie icons as Michael Parks and John Saxon, Welcome to Spring Break is a hilarious, absolutely ridiculous, and thoroughly entertaining piece of late-80s slasher fare that will undoubtedly entertain fans of the period and genre.
