Carla Hay Culture Mix Dull and very manipulative, Wes Schlagenhauf Is Dying is the worst type of filmmaking with a COVID-19 theme. Viewers will have a hard time caring about the self-absorbed cretins at the center of this insipid comedy. Jul 7, 2022 Full Review Rendy Jones Rendy Reviews Wes Schlagenhauf Is Dying is the best example of what a COVID comedy shouldn't be. Rated: 1.5/5 Jun 28, 2022 Full Review Mae Abdulbaki Screen Rant While there are moments that work & the cast has a lot of chemistry together, Wes Schlagenhauf is Dying never reaches its story or comedic potential. Rated: 2/5 Jun 17, 2022 Full Review Lisa Laman The Spool Movies about moviemaking can be truly special. They can also be as utterly lifeless, as is, unfortunately, the case with Wes Schlagenhauf is Dying.  Jun 17, 2022 Full Review Sebastian Zavala Kahn Cinencuentro It's that closeness — and the down-to-earth portrayal of three young, creative, and at times incredibly selfish guys — that turns the film into light-hearted yet curiously relevant (and not too problematic) entertainment. Full review in Spanish. Rated: 3/5 Jun 16, 2022 Full Review Luke Gorham In Review Online It’s pretty clear that Wes Schlagenhaug is Dying was intended as a kind of calling card film, but this is one number you’re going to want to lose. John B What's with these official reviews? Are these critics on drugs (clearly not the fun kind)? This movie was a blast! I guess I shouldn't be surprised that critics are incapable of having fun or a sense of humor. Not everything has to be so serious. Sometimes it's ok to just have a good time joking around with your buds. In a time when everyone is taking themselves too seriously, I was grateful to spend a little time having some major laughs. I loved this movie and will be watching it again soon! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/10/24 Full Review Tate J Wes is Dying is very meta, very fun, very genuine! Some people say this is a "Covid" movie may have missed the point, it just takes place during the time but is done well and the overall story is one of love and friendship. Definitely one of my favorites of the year so far. Fun and easy watch! :) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/10/24 Full Review Jensen H Funny to relive all the silly Covid/quarantine stuff. Good pacing as well with a great third act. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/09/24 Full Review Alex M Fun, meta, creative buddy comedy…recommend to anyone who's in the industry. And hilarious cameos! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/09/24 Full Review Jeremy N Always Sunny meets a heartfelt indie. This is what friendship is all about! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/09/24 Full Review Matt S Beautifully shot and acted, heartfelt and most important- funny. It's rare to see a film where the lead actors who are suppose to be "best friends" actually feel like it. There's so much chemistry it's impossible to watch not feel like you're best friends with these guys. The story moves with no fat to be found… funny sequence after funny sequence in a plot that felt fresh. I haven't quite seen a film like this before. Go check it out!
