A film that has a lot to say but lacking the appropriate way to say it. Go to Full Review

"West of the Jordan River" is as formally precise at it is politically unapologetic. Go to Full Review

The maddeningly unfocused Israeli documentary West of the Jordan River doesn't reveal anything insightful about Gaza settlers' reasons for either supporting or rejecting a two-state solution. Go to Full Review

Interviews mostly liberal Israeli politicians, journalists, and activists in civic organizations working to bridge the gap the government won't cross--feels sadly dated . Go to Full Review

EE D Sep 12 Though Gitai is a great director here he made a super common mistake- he presented all the views like they are having similar wight in their perspective population, which is a great deception. For the viewer it might seem that the 10 nice ladies who have learned to mourn together have the same weight as the martyrs (who he somehow failed to find in this of all peaceful nation of Palestinians), well it's not, those are probably the only 10 nice ladies there & most of the others love Hamas. Also somehow Gitai failed to mention who was at fault at all the peace talks (let me supply you with the answer- Palestinian politicians). That conflict is definitely taking a huge toll on the Israelis both physical and mental but until the Palestinians won't find a leader who's willing to compromise they are dooming both of these nations to the conflict See more 02/01/2018 Disjointed, biased review of what is going on in the West Bank. A very disappointing movie- it lacked depth, balance and any new information that is not already known. And he completely leaves out any context to make any claims the people he interviews believable. See more Read all reviews
