Katie Walsh Los Angeles Times The film slightly rushes the resolution, glossing over the tougher bits of conflict, but the message prevails. Nov 28, 2023 Full Review Leslie Felperin The Hollywood Reporter What We Did On Our Holiday could be used as a textbook example of how to ruin a movie with a bad third act. Nov 28, 2023 Full Review Nigel Andrews Financial Times There are a few laughs; a couple of tears; and cinematography that bravely battles for continuity amid the capricious, dual-location British weather. Nov 28, 2023 Full Review Graham Young Birmingham Mail The most enjoyable British movie of the year! Rated: 4/5 Nov 28, 2023 Full Review Josh Slater-Williams Vague Visages A big part of why the plot fails is that these characters come across as utterly hollow strawmen for Hamilton and Jenkin’s manipulations, despite the use of semi-improvised flourishes to make them potentially seem more real. Nov 28, 2023 Full Review Gayatri Gauri Firstpost One thing is guaranteed after watching What We Did On Our Holiday: you may not be keen on brats, but you will be sold on the idea of a holiday in Scotland. Graham W Just watched this on TV recently missed this at the Cinema. We really enjoyed this sad and funny movie. Great acting by Billy Connelly David Tennant and Rosalind Pike but all of them upstaged by the 3 child actors. Like previous review can’t understand why this wasn’t more of a hit at the time? Good family movie give it a try. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/11/24 Full Review Nigel S Can't understand why this movie wasnt far more successful at the box office. It had similar ingredients to any of the Richard Curtis comedies or Little Miss Sunshine. If you liked those movies, this is a must see! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/15/24 Full Review Emma A An entertaining and novel idea for a movie, with a great cast and script. Funny and poignant in equal measure, with the backdrop of the Scottish highlands enriching the whole film. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/11/23 Full Review Jonna M Amusing and heartwarming ❤️ Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/07/23 Full Review peter S Takes two actors who could not act to save their lives, Pike and Tennant, and add Bill Connolly. What do you get? Nothing good. Actually something pretty bad. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/06/23 Full Review Debs D Absolutely brilliant, the acting was superb and the story line was so funny. We have watched this twice over the last week, and will watch again with family members who have not yet seen it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews
