Blu B The whole Ferris Bueller style narration scenes every so often are so unneeded and stupid. Besides that this is a standard run of the mill family camping outdoors family adventure. Pretty standard stuff. The biggest issue is the editing isn't that good and everything else is just alright. We're just thrown into this trip after a less than 5 minute intro to everyone. Outside of Bacon & Astin the other members all blend in TERRIBLY. I can't tell you one thing about the other kids on this trip if you had a handgun to my head. No one really has that much chemistry either. And Astin & Bacon are just alright. Once they arrive on the trip it feels like stuff just happens. If you removed or rearranged any of the things that happen on the trip it really doesn't change much. The music is standard late 80's sounding stuff too. Doesn't really fit a adventure like this and dates it but it is kind of catchy. The on location outdoors setting is nice and the direction is alright. Again this needed better characters and a tighter story more than anything. This tries being a bit like a coming of age story and a camping adventure but really doesn't do much. It's very lighthearted kind of stuff here. And it's pretty predictable. Skip This. It's kind of harmless but nothing worth much time. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/11/25 Full Review Steve D Bacon can't save this awful script. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/04/23 Full Review Gustavo S excelente filme de aventura, recomendo assistir e tambem anos 80 bons atores Kevin Bacon tava otimo no papel e os outros atores tambem atuações sensacionais Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/08/23 Full Review thomas b Eighties Kevin Bacon takes Sean Austin (and friends) on an ruthless camping trip into the wilderness. I watched this many times as a teenager. The rope bridge and island abandonment scenes stuck with me forever. Unlike most eighties teen movies, this has a humorless daunting atmosphere that made it stand out from other releases from this decade. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review ra b Great coming of age adventure movie. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member A nostalgia piece. A film you probably liked as a child of the 80's, but one that didn't age well. Bacon & Astin share an interesting dynamic and there is some fine cinematography, but overall it's incredibly bland. And to see Sean Astin act at one age, hit puberty and then have to narrate the film post-change is just too bizarre to not notice. You can't run, you can't hide, you can't run, you can't hide...
