This film is ostensibly a documentary about Bernard Tapie, a French businessman, television entertainer and ex-president of the Olympique Marseille soccer club who later did prison time because of his involvement in match fixing. But the film is really about obsession. Director Marina Zenovich becomes increasingly fixated on Tapie, especially since she cannot gain access to him during her several trips to France to meet him. The more elusive he is, the more her interest grows.

Synopsis
