It's 1941 in Yugoslavia and a public bus is taking its passengers to the capital city of Belgrade. The rural Serbian roads are dramatically slowing the pace, however, and the bus has to contend with a flat tire, a dilapidated bridge, feuding locals and other disturbances. Tensions rise between the passengers as they are consistently delayed, forcing the old conductor (Pavle Vujisic) to attempt to keep the peace while his son (Aleksander Bercek) continues driving.
