Chris Alexander Fangoria What makes Why Horror? truly appealing and unique as a film is Zimerman himself. This is his show all the way. Rated: 3/4 May 23, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member While I found it fun and engaging, some of it is retread from other horror explorations and its appeal likely doesn't extend beyond fans of the genre. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Frances H Fun look at the Horror Genre and why we love it. (Yes, we do--The Walking Dead is the most watched show on TV.) Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/14/15 Full Review Audience Member Why Horror? is a decent documentary being shown on Showtime that covers some good ground. For a horror fan, I learned a couple things. As someone flipping around to be entertained, I was just that. The director is a nerdy fan who asks a few questions that get answered by some popular names including the great George Romero, Eli Roth (although after his Green Inferno film, I feel the need to put his title in quotation marks when I call him a "director") and others. The narrator and star travels around places like Japan, London, and his brain, investigating people's reactions to horror and why they react the way they do. He also covers things like women in horror and video games. If you enjoy good documentaries and horror films,, take a look. This is an entertaining movie that is well put together and was able to keep my interest through the whole thing. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Read all reviews
