Wick is Pain, settles all that noise into a straightforward documentary about the labor of love and behind-the-scenes feuds that turned a little indie action film into another conglomerate film universe with its numerous spin-offs. Go to Full Review

Even without audio description, the die hard John Wick fan looking for the behind the scenes look will be treated to unfiltered opinions and tricks of the trade from those that made the thing they love (which do have audio description). Go to Full Review

... Doe merely presents his subjects with a refreshing honesty about their experience that results in several stories that leave one feeling quite raw and exposed. Go to Full Review

Even hard-core fans will learn a lot about what has gone into the Wick universe. Go to Full Review
Stephen Silver The SS Ben Hecht Jun 6
Is this a commercial for those movies, meant to tie in with the release of the spinoff Ballerina? Absolutely. Does it look a lot like a DVD feature? Sure. Is it too long, at over two hours? Certainly. But I still enjoyed it. Go to Full Review

The only real shortcoming of the documentary is that it never asks Stahelski about the influence of silent film comedians — people he calls the first stuntmen — and never asks him to really delve into his cinematic style. Go to Full Review

Max W 5d As with most things in life, success is the product of painful hard work and luck. See more Dinah H Nov 29 Honestly it was good to watch but not my favorite movies. See more Idodeclareindeed B Nov 10 Great documentary with the lesson that the people who are truly passionate about a project that go the extra mile create the best art. I'm glad Dave left after John Wick 1, I think they were so concerned about their budget because all of their money was going towards his gum. Dave sure loves to chew gum. In every shot for the first 20 minutes, Dave has his mouth wide open like he's never had one person in his life go - hey, maybe chew with your mouth closed. No parents? He's never one thought - wow I chew gum like the most obnoxious football coach of all time, maybe I'll close my mouth. Nope, just keep smacking that gum. Take the gum away from Dave. Close. Your. Mouth. See more Jen H. @Nifer01 Nov 7 If you like documentaries and you like John Wick movies. You'll love this. See more Jaret M @JaretMorlan Nov 4 I'm not gonna pretend this is an earth-shattering documentary or even a revolutionary entry in the medium. But it IS wildly entertaining and informative about the making of arguably the greatest action franchise of the 21st century. But even more than that, it is a glimpse at, and a true celebration of, stunt work and those within the industry. This film provides a history on two of the leading men in action work, and shows stunt workers as artists and creatives, not just risk takers as they have been painted since film began. Perhaps only fans of John Wick will enjoy this, but I imagine anyone interested and passionate about the making of films will also have a blast. And, of course, Keanu just couldn't be more likable.
