It has all the right credentials for a british movie - low-key setting, slow pacing, quirky - it even has alice lowe in the cast. But it misses every mark. The dialogue is realistic but not interesting. The humour isn't funny. And the driving force of the plot - oliver's desire to get gillian back - makes no sense since he's sweet and she's just a pain. He should have gone off with his first love - she was much nicer.
