Attorney Emily Reed (Carre Otis) is hired by Claudia Lirones (Jacqueline Bisset), a businesswoman in the final stages of a big real estate deal. When Emily escorts Claudia to Rio de Janeiro to wrap up the project, she meets one of Claudia's fellow investors, millionaire James Wheeler (Mickey Rourke). A fan of pleasures of the flesh, James aids Emily in exploring her sexuality by opening her eyes to the city's sexual underworld, but willingly toys with her emotions in the process.

Writer-director Zalman King's Wild Orchid could be considered the Fifty Shades of Grey of its day: a would-be erotic romp that ultimately carries as much of a sexual charge as a Chicken McNugget.

If you have a taste, as I do, for deliriously bad movies, Wild Orchid comes highly recommended. It's the most pretentiously ludicrous movie I've seen since Siesta.

This is reeeeeally stupid movie. I watched it after Nine and a half weeks and I couldn't unsee Rourkes cheek fillers. The plot is unexisting, sex scenes just for the sake of itself, I was really disappointed because the bar was so low 😂 horrible acting and so on...

More a collection of scenes than a planned storyline. Poor script, poorly delivered. I should give this two stars because films with 0.5/1 star are sometimes quite good fun. This is just dreadful, even for lovers of rubbish.
