Spencer T To have a movie panned because it didn’t live up to big box office, big budget movies really doesn’t cut the mustard. This movie, made just after or during the pandemic shows it has guts and resilience. With just three actors in play, the combination gives perspective and an often a glimpse at the horrors of home invasion, security and awareness of how vulnerable we are to willing assailants. The acting for me had a good balance of a genuine want to portray scene by scene accounts and add emotion. It’s a movie worth seeing just to witness and observe how anyone would tackle an encounter such as this and it’s hard not to bridge the gap between the victim and viewer and will on his next move. I’m a fan of B rated movies because they tend to be more honest, less CG, back to film basics and especially resort to good old fashioned scripting. You can live this film as you were a fly on the wall, compared to CG nonsense films where make believe cars flip 50 times before bursting into flames which has an unrealistic and predictable course. I can honestly say this film had a believable script and could have been a much bigger hit if the scenes weren’t so dingy and poorly lit but I guess that adds to the overall mystery. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/13/24 Full Review Frank L The movie tells the story of a famous author (Reed Rodney played by Blake Stadel). But life isn't always what it seems on the surface. Behind the slick exterior lies the shell of a man, an alcoholic haunted by his past misbehaviours that destroyed his family. When a horrific car crash leaves him in a bad way, he faces reconstructive surgery and his jaw is wired shut, leaving him unable to speak. Forced to recover at home alone, the isolation threatens to overwhelm him. Then his alienated daughter Emmy, played by Natalie Sharp, turns up. The movie really failed miserably to make any sort of real impression. The storyline is really blurry and bizarre. And the twist does not make any sense. They could have cut another hour and you would still not have missed anything. To say that the movie is slow-paced is an understatement. Furthermore you will not have any connection with the characters. No connection with anything here. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 05/28/23 Full Review Sonny L Boring, but most of all the audio and dialog is some of the worst I've ever had the displeasure of trying to listen to. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/28/23 Full Review Sarah B Wouldn't bother. If you like films where a slow moving thief hunts 2 slow moving people in a nice house then this is for you…If you have a dental appointment then go to that instead. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 11/14/22 Full Review Audience Member A great, classic, slow-burn home-invasion thriller! Bravo to these first time filmmakers! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member A slow burn for sure acting is descent especially the protagonist!!! All in all it was entertaining Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Read all reviews
