R P This time J.R. Bookwalter and Charles Band try to capitalize on found footage movies like the Blair Witch Project. There does seem to be a little bit better budget for Witchouse II and we have the return of Ariauna Albright as Lilith. She also gets to play a professor. (https://foreverfinalgirl.com/witchouse-ii/) Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/26/22 Full Review Audience Member Really bland and incoherent. It keeps switching from found-footage and traditional film, making it a bit annoying to sit through. The characters are generic, the effects aren't too great, and the plot is scrambled. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member The film opens with some first person perspective video camera footage and immediately I was groaning. Luckily, this found footage is actually found footage. While there are other instances of handheld video camera work in the film, it is not a first person perspective film. They are just used to pad the film and actually work well with the story being told. Witchouse 2 comes to us from J.R. Bookwalter which does help the film as he, while not being a fantastic director, is one with some skill. This film doesn't have the great FX found in the first installment but makes up for it a bit with a mystery tale of sorts as a group of scientists must determine the identity of some long dead bodies found in a forest. While there are plenty of aspects about the film that don't make much logical sense, this is standard fare for low budget films of this nature and as long as you don't think too hard, fans should be able to find enjoyment in this sequel of witchcraft and a town's deep dark past.
