JafarGeppetto Spoilers *** I gave it a low rating because of the wasted potential. If it was blatantly bad I would have turned it off. But it's just promising enough that I wasted a lot of time waiting for it to get good. It never does. Nothing really happens for the entire movie until the last few mins. By that point I was so frustrated I didn't care what happened. The creature effects were great. They only showed it for literally 2 seconds. The rest of the movie is basically just the guy wandering around looking confused and feeling sorry for himself. Just fast fwd and watch the last 20 mins and you'll probably enjoy this movie more than I did. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 06/11/23 Full Review Estrella I don't understand WHY they don't realize how horrible they have made a film while EDITING! how on Earth do they let such a film release on their own? While watching this painfully slow acidity, I was wondering if this main character is the director as he is doing a pathetic job of doing justice to someone's character, and low and behold, he infact IS the director. I also thought about it when an unnecessary kissing scene was involved with MANY OTHER unnecessary scenes, but I might be wrong. who cares! this film sucks! I needed to write something horrible about it just to vent off my frustration after watching it. A good horror is SO RARE! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/01/23 Full Review Ashley C Wolf Garden is a slow-paced, low-budget thriller and it was a pleasant surprise. Despite the limited resources, the film managed to tell an engaging story that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout. One of the standout aspects of the film was its great cinematography. The visuals were impressive, with clever use of lighting and camera angles that helped create a tense atmosphere that suited the thriller genre perfectly. As someone who is not usually a fan of horror, I found myself fully invested in the story. The pacing was deliberate, with the tension building gradually until the shocking climax. It was refreshing to see a horror film that relied on suspense and character development rather than cheap jump scares. Overall, I would highly recommend this film to anyone who enjoys slow-burning thrillers with great cinematography. It just goes to show that a low budget doesn't have to mean a lackluster story or production value. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/12/23 Full Review Brad P Wolf Garden works more when it's delving into psychological horror instead of adhering to any kind of canonized werewolf lore. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/04/23 Full Review Windy S Can't remember last time I saw an extremely interesting, slow burn Werewolf Movie that can catch my eyes straight away. The music, the sound and the atmosphere of Wolf Garden is awesome! I absolutely had to hold my breath all way through, even though the ending is a bit 'short' as I was expecting more. but overall. absolutely great piece of art! Cath Clarke Guardian The problem is that for film with a psychological angle there’s not a lot of actual psychology to sink your teeth into. Rated: 2/5 May 2, 2023 Full Review Noel Murray Los Angeles Times Despite some nice mood-setting, too much of “Wolf Garden” is spent talking around the story rather than just telling it. Mar 3, 2023 Full Review Drew Tinnin Dread Central Wolf Garden is beyond a slow burn. It’s a meandering, pensive study of a man unraveling. But it never strays so far off the path that it loses its bearings completely. Mar 22, 2023 Full Review Crockett Houghton Film Inquiry It tried to do too many things and never found a solid identity. There is a movie here. In fact, I would dare to say there is a very good movie here but the editing and the forced non-linear structure ruined it. Mar 4, 2023 Full Review Nathaniel Muir AIPT Takes the classic werewolf story and attempts to tell it with a greater focus on character. It is a good idea in theory that does not play out as well as intended. Still, it is never aggressively bad and the closing song is perfect for the genre. Feb 27, 2023 Full Review Melissa Hannon Horror Geek Life Aside from the pacing issues, Wolf Garden is a solid werewolf film for those who don't mind a quiet, slow-burn film.
