Matt M Holy cow, what a piece of garbage. The acting is strained, the direction seems unconcerned with linear thought, and the murders, based on actual crimes, have been changed for some reason. Apparently this movie is based on a book. I wonder if anyone involved bothered to read the book, or if the original author decided they had better ideas on how to brutally murder an eight months pregnant woman. The original tv miniseries Helter Skelter is far less violent and far more accurate. There are better Manson family movies out there. Skip this one. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/18/23 Full Review Lagrange P Rotten to the core. There's some decent filmmaking and performances here, but you'll need to experience it within the context of perhaps the most unnecessary, exploitive, and shameful depiction of "true crime." I've ever seen. The Tate/LaBianca murders by the Manson family dominated the American psyche for decades, and Charles Manson himself even longer. They really happened, and the victims deserved better - or nothing at all. Frankly, the movie is downright unseemly and offensive. Hard pass. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 06/30/23 Full Review Liam D Director John R. Leonetti (The Butterfly Effect 2, Sons of Thunder) and writer Gary Dauberman (Blood Monkey, In the Spider's Web) goes through the same exploration and horror cliches to create a dishonest Thriller with a cast far better than this material Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Sebastyen D Ridiculous. The only quality of this movie is its lenght. 72 minutes. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member The characters were daft and slow. Frustratingly so. Wouldn't recommend. Kate Muir Times (UK) John R Leonetti's film shamelessly exploits the Manson Family murders. Rated: 1/5 Mar 17, 2017 Full Review Linda Marric HeyUGuys Delivers some stellar performances & a genuinely terrifying story, but is largely let down by the filmmaker's inability to understand that there are limits to what can & cannot be shown on screen when it comes to the retelling of real life murders. Rated: 2/5 Mar 17, 2017 Full Review Geoffrey Macnab Independent (UK) Wolves At The Door is a repellent, misconceived, and pointless film. Rated: 1/5 Mar 15, 2017 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...runs out of steam long before arriving at its anticlimactic finish... Rated: 2/4 May 22, 2021 Full Review Kat Hughes THN A bland and uninteresting attempt to bring to life one of the most interesting and dangerous cults in American history. Rated: 2/5 Aug 29, 2018 Full Review Terry Staunton Radio Times Most attempts at tension are telegraphed so far in advance, they might as well be stamped with the previous week's postmark, while Cassidy and co are portrayed as such irritating "beautiful people" that some may find themselves reluctant to root for them.
