Audience Member Okay, this one is a real mixed bag, with two friends going on a village vacation to let one of them try to get over a recent break-up, then the villagers turn on them and start trying to kill them in strange ritual sacrifice! There's some interesting visuals and freaky scenes in there, but overall it gets a bit muddled and somehow overstays its welcome even at the fairly short 90 minute running time. Rental? Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Worth it for chainsaw vs giant shears Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/25/23 Full Review Audience Member The first 45 minutes of this is actually pretty scary. Think of it as a Japanese Deliverance - a girl goes to a hot springs inn with her friend and finds out that it's filled with Japanese cropsies determined to cut off her leg so she can live in town forever. Then we find out what's happening with her friend - Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member It was odd, even for a Japanese horror film. I did like Reika - it's not every homacidal manic who can pull off a sweet lolita ensemble. Overall it's entertaining and worth a rent if you're into this kind of film, or like others like Yo-Yo Girl Cop and Tokyo Gore Police. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member from the director of battle royale, here we see two friends going off to a village retreat, but local legend has villagers hacking off legs for sacrifices, these two girls become entangled in this the villagers latest victims from the retreat, as the girls are split up, communicating through there mobiles, we see through a structured flashback, going back and fourth there events, dark and gloomy, and runs along nicely, it adds new elements throughout, and keeps you guessing, as to what will happen, a great climax also, which difers from 1st half a entertaining watch, and interesting horror from japan once more Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Breaking it into chapters was brilliant. The flashbacks are expertly done, as are the angles and pans. Cool ending. Fun movie, appalling lack of nudity and kissing. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/21/23 Full Review Read all reviews
