Xtreme (or Extremo) is Spanish martial arts movie. The plot is barebones but the hand-to-hand combat is above average to damn impressive with great lighting and film work. The gunplay is weak and the bad guy(s) motivation/plan seems to always be do the dumbest thing possible. Our heroes' plan is non-existent (despite being referenced several times as years in the making) and the subplot with the "boy" is just a terrible version of a action movie trope. The dubbing on this thing is some of the poorest I have heard in a while, so you are much better just reading the subtitles...or ignoring the story and just fast-forwarding to the next melee. 2 1/2 stars out of 5.
