PridePosterStudios Films with intersex representation are few and far between, but this could have been better executed. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/26/24 Full Review Audience Member The movie really captured my imagination. So many issues to deal with for a young woman/man. I liked the movie. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Amazing movie, what great acting. An such an interesting story. Definitely check this one out. I saw it on Amazon Prime April 2021 and it was a free movie, yippee. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/20/23 Full Review Audience Member Es una historia muy profunda, dura de ver, pero que resulta ser sentimental. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review david l XXY is unfortunately overly sensationalist in a couple of graphic, unsubtle sequences, but overall it's an important movie about the rarely portrayed subject of intersex people which features a powerful, wonderful ending, terrific dialogue and a very strong performance from Ines Efron who was also so well cast with her interesting androgynous look. It features a highly important message about excessive obsession about gender in our society and the extreme importance of strong, appropriate parenting. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Captivating and heartwarming story that pits courage and acceptance against judgement and ignorance. Alyx Vesey Bitch Media If it isn't exactly a happy ending, it's at least an acknowledgment that her character will develop long after the credits roll. Sometimes that's the best we can hope for. May 7, 2023 Full Review Martin Tsai New York Sun It’s difficult to buy a message of empowerment when it’s at the expense of someone else’s dignity.
