While it may be as sexy as anything you will may seen for the longest time- it is the brilliant performances, youthful sense of adventure and emotional depth, in which the sexy-ness occurs, that makes "Y tu madre tambien" such a stand-out film. The sex is a factor, but it is not the X-factor. My favourite road-trip film, ever.

First rate erotic drama thanks to a superb cast and Alfonso Carol's unflinching direction. The actors are excellent, with both Gael Garcia Bernal & Diego Luna making star making turns. However, it is Maribel Verdu who owns the film as the older woman who commands them both. Behind the camera, Cuaron gives an unflinching look at young love and romance, showing how naive you can be at a young age while contrasting with the jadedness of being older. A great, erotic film all-around and unique from beginning to end.

Absolutely meaningless. Come-of-age camouflage for promiscuity. I guess all that two boys need is someone's mother as the best physical education teacher in life. One must gather that she was teaching everything that she wasn't and hadn't experienced during her own adult life—or maybe reflective of it.
