Dorothy Woodend The Tyee (British Columbia) Yodok Stories uses the real experiences of survivors from one North Korea's most infamous concentration camps as the raw material for a piece of musical theatre. . .it is fascinating and moving. Aug 22, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member One of the most moving and distinctive documentaries. Standing ovation for the unique shooting ideas and script. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member Since my father was at Mathausen concentration camp during the war I have a special affinity for this film. It is a grueling view. There is no footage from the camps, but the stoic personal accounts are graphic enough. It is unbelievable that these camps are still currently in existence. Will try to get a screening at UCLA. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member I can't believe most South Koreans don't even know about the existence of concentration camps in present day North Korea. Devastatingly powerful, yet the humanism comes through despite hearing personal accounts that are too tragic for me to believe to be true. As a film, the editing could have been better finessed, but for the most part, a must-see documentary. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member The moving docu with powerful stories deserve a wide audience. It's incomprehensible that the crimes are still going on and that despite having been aware of the camps for some time now, that they still exist.
