Mark Sachs Los Angeles Times The strong cast of Disney Channel regulars, with a script by Christopher Reed and Cynthia Carle and note-perfect direction by Paul Hoen, combine to make it one of the best efforts of the basic cable outfit's original-movie franchise. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member Another great Disney Channel movie. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member Its an underrated Disney film that deserves more credit than what it got from people. It teaches a valuable lesson and there is a good sense of humor in this film. The plot points are well put together and a nice choice of actors that we recognize from other shows they have done on the Disney channel. Its like a kids version of ''Its A Wonderful Life'' film. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member You Wish! does feature good moral points and is well created with an interesting and surprisingly strong approach to the idea of being stuck in a universe that has changed for the worst, but Spencer Breslin's role as a younger brother is overly repetitive although semi-decently created and becomes so accurate that liking his part in the film is difficult as his character transitions from annoying to unrealistic. His character makes watching You Wish! annoying. You Wish! is ok in parts, namely the way the story draws to a close, but is merely rudimentary as a whole. The best thing it provides is nostalgia for some of the actors involved and for a time when Disney Channel TV Movies were in their heyday, but it's simply just forgettable if not for the way the end of the story is executed well, even though it does feature many of the cliches the entire film follows. You Wish! is ok and is better when the viewer is a young person who enjoyed The Cat in the Hat movie and likes the nostalgia of Spencer Breslin or Lalaine from Lizzie Maguire, otherwise You Wish! is a futile attempt at entertainment. But then again, the intended audience is likely to enjoy it so it isn't a mistake. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/27/23 Full Review Read all reviews
