Blake- N @PBSAniDom May 5 You Lucky Dog is another fairly average Disney Channel Original Movie that lands squarely in "mid" territory. It has a simple, lighthearted premise and clearly aims for a family-friendly, feel-good tone, but it doesn’t do enough to stand out from other similar DCOMs of its era. The story is straightforward and easy to follow, but it feels predictable and lacks much excitement or originality. While the concept has some charm, the execution is fairly basic, and the pacing doesn’t always keep things engaging. It’s the kind of movie you can put on in the background without missing much. The performances are fine for what the movie is, and there are a few mildly entertaining moments, but nothing particularly memorable or impactful. It ultimately feels like a safe, low-stakes TV movie that doesn’t aim very high. Overall, You Lucky Dog is watchable but forgettable—a very average DCOM experience. 5/10. See more 02/17/2013 I liked when Kirk Cameron's character spoke as the dog. I was surprised but happy to see John de Lancie in this film as a bad guy. He played the character Q in Star Trek T.V.
