Tara Brady Irish Times Noonan and cinematographer Tom Comerford do splendid work making a comparatively short car drive look and feel like an epic road trip, and David Geraghty's score is one of the best film compositions of 2015. Rated: 3/5 Mar 7, 2016 Full Review Vladan Petkovic Cineuropa The whole cast does a good job, and it is, of course, the wildly talented [Lauren Kinsella] steals the show. Aug 24, 2020 Full Review Jennifer Heaton Alternative Lens Gillen's repartee with the young Lauren Kinsella is charming, holding interest through the film's slower moments and the somewhat unsatisfactory conclusion. Rated: 6.5/10 Nov 2, 2018 Full Review Richard Drumm Film Ireland Magazine The attempt at stark realism despite the presence of slightly generic elements further reinforcing the weird non-tone the film seems to be going for. Mar 28, 2018 Full Review Carlos Marañón Cinemanía (Spain) It's not without charm... despite the improbability of the approach... [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 3/5 Feb 14, 2018 Full Review James Marsh South China Morning Post Tom Comerford's muted cinematography finds a rugged beauty in such an unglamorous region of the Irish countryside, while David Geraghty's evocative score is perhaps the film's artistic standout. jeff h Aidan Gillan is such a great actor, and this is one of those nice movies, which whilst set in a pretty bleak environment has enough of an interesting backstory to hold the storyline together. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member It's nice watching this kind of movies every once in a while. It's refreshing and peaceful. Though, there's a tendency for these movies to go bland which is the case for this one. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/24/23 Full Review Audience Member You're Ugly Too [Mark Noonan, 2015, Ireland] An engaging journey of two unusual characters thrown together infused with a great sense of authenticity. 7.5/10 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member A beautifully shot film with heartwarming performances. The script is filled with humor and pathos yet much of the story happens off screen. I watched it with some friends and we found ourselves talking for hours afterwards about the hidden back stories of the characters. A gem. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member cinegeek.de Der gegenseitige Kampf um Sympathie mit Wortwitz und allen Mitteln: You're Ugly Too! Stacey leidet an Narkolepsie.
