Tasha Robinson AV Club Effectively a strategy guide and commercial in vaguely filmic form. Jul 28, 2014 Full Review Nell Minow Common Sense Media More infomercial than movie. For series fans only. Rated: 2/5 Dec 29, 2010 Full Review Andrea Gronvall Chicago Reader Like the gods, the trading cards are capricious, with ever-changing rules and strategies so intricate that only Yu-Gi-Ohlogists will fully enjoy this adventure. Jan 8, 2007 Full Review Mat Brunet AniMat's Review (YouTube) I find it to be enjoyable not as an action-packed and immersive anime filled with cool monsters battling each other, but as this mindless cheesy movie where you can turn off your brain and just have fun with the goofiness of the situations and the acting. Rated: 6/10 Dec 8, 2023 Full Review Lucy Barrick Radio Times Only fans of the series will be able to follow the largely incomprehensible plot -- and the bog-standard animation won't win it any new ones. Rated: 2/5 Jul 28, 2014 Full Review Total Film A 90-minute advert in search of a storyline. Rated: 1/5 Jul 28, 2014 Full Review Read all reviews

Oaklee D Loved Yu-Gi-Oh as a kid and still love it as an adult. This film adaptation was a fun time across the board. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/03/24 Full Review Tomato L Most countries are unable to offer adequate financial or social support for individuals suffering from physical dysphoria; consequently, many individuals suffer from this chronic lack of care. Now let's say Japan's social climate in Yugioh is similar to the real-life Japan. The healthcare for trans individuals would be dismal. Let's say hypothetically, Yugi Mutou is trans. What a depressing situation our protagonist finds himself in. What resources does Yugi have to his name other than some dusty old Alzheimer-ridden Pharaoh. His prospects are bleak. His income subpar. Would he have the support of his friends? Seto Kaiba. Now let's talk about Capitalism. Kaiba is what we call a one-percenter. He holds the majority of the wealth, the unjust distribution of wealth gives Kaiba a near-unlimited amount of freedom. Kaiba only has one thing he cares about in the world. A card game. He would do anything Anything. To play against this little pipsqueak. How can Yugi focus on playing Yugioh when the medical system plays him for a fool. A problem naturally arises and with it, a clear solution. Kaiba would pay for Yugi Mutou's top surgery. Not because he likes him. Or because he cares for him as an individual. He needs to support his mental health so that he may continue to duel with him. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/24/24 Full Review Phil o Great movie if you enjoyed the original TV series. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/13/23 Full Review StephenPaul C The greatest 1.5 hours ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/07/23 Full Review Cyrus K I admit it, i am not a fan of the Yu gi oh anime even though i grew up with it. My problems with the anime are that the story was overly complicated for me to understand. And the characters are forgettable to the point where i can't remember most of their names or personalities. And most of those problems reside in this movie. The plot is overly complicated and the characters are as forgettable as last week's lunch. And it doesn't help that the voice acting is abysmal (even for 4Kids standards), and the fact that this is nothing but a blatant advertisement. But the animation is somewhat OK (i guess). but that is not nearly enough to save this poorly acted, overly complicated, forgettable, blandly animated, advertisement. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/29/23 Full Review john f My five-year-old daughter wanted to watch it, and I must say I was surprised she sat through the whole thing, as I struggled to stay awake. It's basically an infomercial for selling their trading cards. I suppose some of the animation is decent (what likely helped keep my daughter engaged), but the script is in the "so bad it's really bad" territory.
