Jamie Dunn Sight & Sound Bollaín, working from Paul Laverty's script, has a trump card up her sleeve in the modern day dance sequences choreographed by Acosta, which punctuates the prosaic rags-to-renown dancer story with dollops of physical poetry. Jan 13, 2020 Full Review Sandra Hall Sydney Morning Herald It has all the makings of a perfectly formed feel-good movie, but Spanish director Iciar Bollain and British screenwriter Paul Laverty have less conventional ideas in mind. Rated: 18/20 Apr 1, 2021 Full Review Yasser Medina Cinefilia Although the intentions are understood with the beautiful dance choreography, it lacks a bit of verve on the matter. isla s This is a pretty fast paced action/Western film with some decent performances, most notably that of Lou Diamond Philips. I enjoyed the confrontations and the plot in general. Its perhaps not entirely memorable but its certainly entertaining while its on screen. The characters are fairly likeable. Its fairly violent but not overly gratuitously so. If your a fan of the main cast, then I'd recommend it, yes. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Beautiful movements, well told. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/13/23 Full Review Audience Member I really enjoyed it. Great story, Liked filming. Great dance sequences. Story telling sometimes felt a bit disjointed. Always enjoy non-American movies - have different feel. Glimpse into life in a different place.
