Brian Tallerico RogerEbert.com This is an admirable effort, an action thriller that somehow feels both familiar and fresh at the same time. Rated: 2.5/4 Apr 11, 2025 Full Review Dennis Harvey 48 Hills This is the sort of exercise in snarky machismo and ADD-accommodating stylistic overkill you’d normally expect to find Jason Statham bouncing around in. It’s well-crafted for what it is, but the video-game-like result feels self-congratulatory and hollow. Apr 18, 2025 Full Review Chris Sawin Bounding Into Comics There’s a decent premise buried in here somewhere, and Willem Dafoe is great in just about anything. But Zero is more like a violent case of explosive diarrhea than a worthwhile and thrilling action film. Rated: 1/5 Apr 16, 2025 Full Review Daniel Rester Flickering Myth Zero is a slight step down from Saloum, but its still an impressive enough project from Herbulot, with plenty of humor, thrills, and flashy visuals. Apr 12, 2025 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue A puzzle that’s not worth solving, this gimmicky thriller can’t match its gritty intensity with a deeper sense of intrigue or urgency. Apr 11, 2025 Full Review Mark Dujsik Mark Reviews Movies [The] movie begins as a race-against-the-clock thriller ... and gradually becomes a strange, confounding, and ultimately nihilistic political treatise. Audience Member This movie makes no sense. There like 5 different plot lines. It doesn’t get worse than being able to see the screenplay. Quirky innocent protagonist has a bad thing happen, freaks out, there’s a strange voice to add foreshadowing. Almost gets into trouble, realizes he has to accept. Then meets a dumb sidekick that can fight. They get high and beat some people up, run out like they are getting caught, next there’s a scene with a car that lasts for a month long. A good movie if you are bored but I probably won’t watch it again. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 04/20/25 Full Review Andrea I Zero is the kind of thriller that keeps you guessing. It’s intense, fast-paced, and honestly pretty dark, with some sharp political commentary. Willem Dafoe’s voice-over was just perfect—he added an extra layer of intrigue. Some scenes were so suspenseful I found myself holding my breath. Definitely worth a watch. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/18/25 Full Review Read all reviews
