The last of the 50 DVD SciFi Collection, disc 8. This film had some good moments, however, the plot was uneven & the monster was goofy.

"Half-a-cup, hun." I always say that now, and it's because of this movie. This film reminds me of the type when people get together, write their own script and film it in their home. Costumes and visual effects, via the local or online Party City or Spencers (remember THAT place?) Fake blood, food coloring. Sound effects? Cannibalize YouTube for them. Edit with Windows Movie Maker and you've got your own Zontar, too. And why not? Corman did way back then.

Oh so bad. The acting is stiff to say the least, but some of that is directed. The monster is ridiculous. The crowd running scenes are bizarre. And the sound track is simply bizarre and not really in a good way.

It doesn't take long to figure out that it's a remake of 'It Conquered the World' (unless you've never seen it), and while it's silly and goofy too, Zontar is missing the b-movie charm, and Buchanan is no Corman. Though one must admit that the monster is not as silly looking, and that the pacing is a bit better. Hits in some marks, misses in others, still trash.
