Audience Member My mother was a fan of this series as a kid and I can see why. Guy Williams is the quintessential Zorro and Don Diego and set the bar in the same way that Christopher Reeve did years later as Superman. Surprisingly, whether you're watching it in black-and-white or in color, the action and comedy holds up and doesn't try to hard to make you laugh. As usual Disney touches of music and comedy and romance and it's not feel stale in the least. Williams and Henry Calvin as Sergeant Garcia have amazing community timing together. Everything feels authentic and the sword fighting that barely cuts away is superb. Walter put a lot of money into this and it shows. I recommend this for anyone wanting to start the journey with the fox. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review r 9 A step down from 'The Sign of Zorro', but 'Zorro, the Avenger' still leaves a tonne to enjoy. Guy Williams is again terrific in the titular role, while Henry Calvin also brings another solid performance as Sgt. Garcia. I don't think the villains are as strong this time around, but Charles Korvin's Varga is still menacing enough. The plot is more stretched out and easier to tell it has been merged from television episodes, with Zorro this time on the backfoot more often than being the one plotting; I preferred it the other way, from the preceding film. It's more entertaining watching him craft things together, as opposed to reacting each time. Interesting to watch this, unlike the other, in colour. The sets don't quite look as nice with colour, though it still all comes together relatively well. A tweaked storyline and a shortened run time, then I would've liked this as much as the 1958 production. Still, a good film. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Guy Williams is the best Zorro, PERIOD. This one with the eagle business is not the best of the Guy Williams series, but it kicks the crap outta that Antonia Banderas crap (which i still liked, lol) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member Guy was a swashbuckling action hero in 1950's. I liked him. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member GUy Williams WAS the ZORRO till Antonio Banderas came Along ! I say they are Equal ! But Antonio is a True SPaniard ! Its about time they used a Spanish man for the part of Zorro Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Read all reviews
